Here are five key San Francisco 49ers players in this Week 10 match up against the Seattle Seahawks.
Jimmy Garoppolo - Could last week's game against the Cardinals be an omen to Niner fans? When the world questioned if this team was a possible Super Bowl contender, all questions centered on whether Jimmy G and was the weak link of the team. Garoppolo answered those questions with a 317-yard passing performance with four touchdowns and zero turnovers against the Cardinals.
This week the 49ers will go against division rival Seattle Seahawks and face their 29th ranked pass defense. This game will be another opportunity for Garoppolo to have a big game and to continue to prove his doubters wrong. As what Stephen A. Smith said on First Take, "Keep doing it".
Emmanuel Moseley - During last week's game against the Cardinals, Moseley had five total tackles, but he attempted to deflect a pass which resulted in an Andy Isabella 88-yard touchdown reception. However, one play should not ruin the second-year player's confidence. The former Volunteer will need amnesia because the Seahawks have two bad hombres named Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf who both went for over 100 yards receiving and combined for three touchdowns in the win against the Buccaneers last week. Having succeeded against Odell Beckham Jr. and Brandin Cooks should prepare Moseley for this Monday night match up.
Dre Greenlaw - With Kwon Alexander out for the remainder of the year, the versatile former Razorback will step onto center stage on Monday night against the Seahawks. Greenlaw, who has nine solo tackles and one sack this season will be thrust into a larger role on the team's top defense.
"YO DRE", chasing the elusive Russell Wilson, who is having an MVP-type year with 22 passing touchdowns and one interception, could be a rude awakening. Wilson has also rushed for 203 yards and three touchdowns this season. So if you think containing Kyler Murray was a chore, doing so against Wilson will be twice as hard.
Arik Armstead - This should actually go to the whole 49er defensive line because it has to control the line of scrimmage and stop running back Chris Carson and quarterback Russell Wilson, yet we will reserve this for the fifth-year defensive lineman. In his first four seasons, Armstread has either been put on injured reserve or hasn't been an impactful presence. Going into this season, he had a total of nine sacks.
The 49ers picked up his fifth-year option and in Armstead's contract year, he has 5.5 sacks and is on pace for his first double digit sack season and is showcasing pass rushing abilities. This game against the Seahawks could be a good barometer to see where he stands against an offense that ranks fifth in the league and generates 395 yards a game. If he is up to the challenge, this will be a good chance to see his "Hungryman" sack dance.
George Kittle - Even when he hurt his ankle in last week's game against the Cardinals, the former Iowa Hawkeye showed he is a warrior and it was on display when Kittle manhandled safety Buddah Baker for his 30-yard touchdown reception.
In his third year, Kittle is considered the best tight end in the league. He leads the team in receiving yards with 541 yards. However, Kittle's skills extend beyond his receiving as his blocking helps the 49ers' second-ranked rush offense. The 49ers will need his infectious attitude and mentality on Monday night against the visiting Seahawks who have won 10 out of the last 11 matchups between the two teams.
