Officially 'All-Pro Fred': 49ers LB Fred Warner named a first-team All-Pro

San Francisco 49ers teammates have been calling the young star linebacker "All-Pro Fred" for some time. Now, it is official. Fred Warner has finally been named a first-team All-Pro by the Associated Press.
Warner, 24, also earned his first Pro Bowl selection this past season. Additionally, he earned the 49ers' top team-issued awards for his contributions this past season — the Len Eshmont Award and the Bill Walsh Award.

Steve Young knows about regret. The Hall of Fame quarterback joined KNBR on Wednesday and shared the story of the San Francisco 49ers allowing running back Ricky Watters to depart after the team's championship run that ended with a Super Bowl victory during the 1994 season. Watters was seen as a bit of a distraction and someone who didn't quite fit into the locker room mentality that was built.
In hindsight, Young also feels the 49ers never recovered from Watters' departure. At least, not until Garrison Hearst's arrival three years later. Who knows how many more Super Bowl rings Young could have earned had Watters stuck around.
Young used that story as an analogy for the 49ers' current quarterback conundrum. They have a franchise quarterback in Jimmy Garoppolo,

How much is Deshaun Watson worth? It wasn't long ago that the Houston Texans determined that he was worth $156 million to be the face of the franchise. If they don't rectify the situation with their young star quarterback soon, they may have to learn how much he is worth in draft compensation.
Watson may want out of Houston after expressing some frustration with how the organization handles itself. Could head coach Kyle Shanahan and the San Francisco 49ers come calling? It would cost a lot, but it would also mean an opportunity to fix the mistake of choosing Solomon Thomas over one of the rookie quarterbacks available in the 2017 draft.
And no, I'm not counting C.J. Beathard.
The question becomes what the Texans might ask in return for Watson, should
