The NFL has released offseason workout dates for all 32 teams, with the San Francisco 49ers set to begin their 2026 program on April 20. The team's schedule will run through a mandatory minicamp in June, with all activities prior to that remaining voluntary.
49ers' 2026 offseason workout schedule:
- First day: April 20
- Rookie minicamp: May 8-9
- OTA offseason workouts: May 27-29, June 1, June 3-4
- Mandatory minicamp: June 9-10
The offseason program is structured into three phases:
- Phase One (first two weeks): Limited to meetings, strength and conditioning, and physical rehabilitation.
- Phase Two (next three weeks): On-field workouts, including individual and group drills, "perfect play drills," and walk-through sessions where offensive players line up against offensive players and defensive players against defensive players. No live contact or team drills (offense vs. defense) are permitted.
- Phase Three (final four weeks): Teams can hold up to 10 days of organized team activities (OTAs). While live contact remains prohibited, 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills are allowed.
Additionally, the 49ers will host a rookie minicamp on May 8–9, giving coaches their first opportunity to work with their selections from the 2026 NFL Draft and undrafted free-agent signings. After the June minicamp, players will break until training camp, when preparations for the 2026 season ramp up.
