Another wave of 2026 NFL mock drafts projects the San Francisco 49ers targeting offense with the first of their six selections.
Wide receiver and offensive line headline the latest projections. While the 49ers added Mike Evans and Christian Kirk in free agency, the expectation remains that the team will inject more youth into the position through the draft.
Up front, the offensive line remains a key storyline as the 49ers continue working toward a resolution with All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams, who is currently set to carry a $46.3 million salary cap hit in 2026.
49ers add receiver and guard in early rounds
In his three-round mock draft for Pro Football & Sports Network, Jacob Infante has the 49ers selecting former Indiana wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. with the No. 27 overall pick.
"The San Francisco 49ers added Mike Evans to their offense in free agency, but they're still thin at the wide receiver position," Infante wrote. "They'll require a talent infusion at the position to complement the likes of George Kittle and Christian McCaffrey in the passing game, especially with Ricky Pearsall still relatively unproven.
"Omar Cooper Jr. is an impressive wide receiver with strong ball skills, coordination, and strong hands. He adjusts well to the ball in the air and can consistently make plays after the catch with his agility and toughness. If he continues to develop as a route runner, he has the potential to be an impact starter."
San Francisco holds just one additional pick in the first three rounds—No. 58 overall in Round 2—after trading its third-round selection to the Dallas Cowboys for defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa.
With that selection, Infante projects the 49ers to take former Texas A&M offensive guard Chase Bisontis, a potential Day 1 starter alongside Williams.
"One of multiple future NFL players along Texas A&M's offensive line, Chase Bisontis won't wow you as an athlete, but he is a sturdy guard with heavy hands who lands his strikes accurately," Infante noted. "With his motor and physicality, he has the opportunity to be a Day 1 starter at the next level."
49ers find Trent Williams successor in Round 1
In his first-round mock for CBS Sports, Garrett Podell has the 49ers addressing the future of the offensive line by selecting former Clemson offensive tackle Blake Miller, who stands at 6-foot-7 and weighs 317 pounds.
"Blake Miller is one of the most experienced offensive linemen in the 2026 NFL Draft with 54 starts at Clemson," Podell wrote. "While he played right tackle for the Tigers, he could learn the finer points of left tackle from All-Pro Trent Williams -- if he's still on the team -- before eventually emerging as his successor in San Francisco."
Even if the 49ers and Williams reach an agreement to keep the veteran in place for 2026, he will turn 38 before the season begins. Planning for the future at left tackle remains a priority, and Podell believes Miller represents a potential long-term solution.
