The San Francisco 49ers did not add edge-rushing help in free agency, making the 2026 NFL Draft a likely avenue to address the team's pass-rush depth. One potential target is Texas Tech defensive end Romello Height, who is scheduled to visit with the 49ers, according to Arye Pulli.

Ryan Fowler previously reported that San Francisco was expected to meet with Height, but did not specify whether it would be a top-30 visit. Pulli later confirmed the meeting will be an official top-30 visit, with the 49ers among at least seven teams hosting Height during the pre-draft process.
The need at edge rusher has become more pressing for San Francisco. Nick Bosa and Mykel Williams are both working their way back from ACL injuries, while Bryce Huff's unexpected retirement further thinned the group. Meanwhile, Clelin Ferrell and Yetur Gross-Matos remain unsigned in free agency.
Height (6-3, 239) played for four different schools during his collegiate career, including Auburn (2020–2021), USC (2022–2023), Georgia Tech (2024), and Texas Tech (2025). Across his collegiate career, he totaled 111 tackles, 27 tackles for loss, 16.5 sacks, and one interception.
He also added one pass defensed, two fumble recoveries, and four forced fumbles, according to Sports Reference.
Height is coming off his most productive season in 2025, when he recorded 38 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, and 10 sacks while starting all 14 games for Texas Tech. He also forced two fumbles and recovered one, earning first-team All-Big 12 honors.
