While the move provides immediate financial flexibility, it also pushes additional cap charges into future seasons. As a result, Bosa is now scheduled to carry a massive $54.9 million salary cap hit in 2027.
The 49ers did a simple restructure on Nick Bosa's contract, clearing $17.172 million in 2026 cap space.
Bosa is still due $23.18 million this season. His 2027 cap number is now a whopping $54,866,753.

OverTheCap.com now lists the San Francisco 49ers with $42,424,230 in salary cap space, a significant increase from the $23,797,878 they were reported to have on Friday.
