Neither Lynch nor Shanahan asked Nick Saban about Mac Jones, potential 49ers draft pick, at pro day

File this under interesting pre-draft tidbits. San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan were in attendance for Alabama's pro day last week. That made headlines because the duo opted to watch quarterback Mac Jones rather than attend Ohio State's pro day to watch Justin Fields. Paired with Chris Simms' speculation that San Francisco might have traded up to the No. 3 spot for Jones, that spurred others to seriously consider a Jones-to-49ers scenario. Alabama head coach Nick Saban recently joined the Dan Patrick Show and shared that neither Lynch nor Shanahan asked him anything about his former quarterback, who helped guide the Crimson Tide to a national championship. And it wasn't because they didn't have an opportunity to do

Nick Bosa was one of several ("several" may be an understatement) San Francisco 49ers who suffered injuries last season. The young pass rusher's injury was season-ending. He suffered a torn ACL in Week 2. Bosa appears to be recovering nicely. On Thursday, he posted a new workout video on social media, which was captured and shared by our friends over at @OurSF49ers_. The video shows Bosa running with a weight sled tied to his waist, and he doesn't appear to be hampered by his left knee injury. Nick Bosa's ACL recovery looks to be going amazing, you love to see it 🙌🏼

The world won't know which of those players the 49ers like the most until the draft's first round takes place on April 29, but there's already been plenty of speculation as to who the selection will be. The widespread assumption is that quarterback Trevor Lawrence of Clemson will go at pick one to the

49ers' John Lynch, Kyle Shanahan flying to Columbus after Alabama pro day

For those reading way too much into the presence of San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan being in Tuscaloosa today for Mac Jones' workout and not in Columbus for Justin Fields', Shanahan offered the following explanation on Monday. "[Just] talking with Fields's agent [David Mulugheta] and everything, we'll get another one from him too," Shanahan said via Kirk Larrabee. "So we'll be able to see him. That kind of made it an easy
