Wide receiver Kendrick Bourne is staying in the NFC West—unfortunately for the San Francisco 49ers, it's with a division rival. NFL insider Jordan Schultz reports that the Arizona Cardinals are signing Bourne to a two-year deal worth up to $12 million.

Bourne entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Eastern Washington in 2017, signing with the 49ers. He spent his first four NFL seasons in San Francisco before signing with the New England Patriots in 2021.
Bourne returned to the 49ers on September 9, 2025, signing a one-year contract to reunite with the team that launched his NFL career. He had expressed a strong interest in returning for the 2026 season.
"I'm trying to come back," Bourne recently told Richard Sherman. "I talk to Kyle—you know Kyle—got a good relationship with him. We had a good exit meeting, so I'm trying to make it happen. That's always the goal. San Francisco is home. And so, coming back, having a good year was powerful.
"So I'm trying to run it back. Money talks, but that's just definitely home, so that's holding a special place in my heart."
During the 2025 season, Bourne recorded 37 receptions for 551 yards, averaging 14.9 yards per catch. Over nine NFL seasons, he has appeared in 127 games, totaling 329 receptions for 4,265 yards and 22 touchdowns. Bourne also contributed 174 rushing yards on 20 carries and even threw a touchdown pass during the 2021 season.
