Speculation about a potential San Francisco 49ers trade for Maxx Crosby has officially come to an end.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Las Vegas Raiders have agreed to trade the star defensive end to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for first-round picks in the 2026 and 2027 NFL Drafts.
"The trade cannot be processed until next week, but it is in place," Schefter wrote. "And Crosby is expected to be a Raven with two 1s back to Vegas."

The Ravens were slated to select with the No. 14 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, while the 49ers are scheduled to select at No. 27, making it difficult for San Francisco to compete with Baltimore's offer.

After missing out on Crosby, bolstering the pass rush remains a major priority for the 49ers heading into the 2026 season. San Francisco's defense recorded just 20 sacks in 2025—the fewest in the NFL by a wide margin.
The 49ers are expected to address the need through both free agency and the draft, even after using three selections on defensive linemen in last year's draft.
Adding to the concern is the health of two key edge rushers. Veteran star Nick Bosa and 2025 first-round pick Mykel Williams are both recovering from ACL injuries.
Selected by the then-Oakland Raiders in the fourth round (No. 106 overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Eastern Michigan, Crosby has developed into one of the NFL's premier edge rushers. He has spent his entire career with the Raiders organization and has become one of the franchise's cornerstone players since its relocation to Las Vegas in 2020.
In 2025, Crosby appeared in 15 games and totaled 73 tackles, 10 sacks, and 28 tackles for loss. He also added six passes defensed, two forced fumbles, and the first interception of his career, returning it 19 yards.
Over seven NFL seasons, Crosby has played in 110 games, compiling 439 tackles, 69.5 sacks, 133 tackles for loss, and 164 quarterback hits. His résumé includes five consecutive Pro Bowl selections (2021–2025) and second-team All-Pro honors in 2021 and 2023.
