Super Bowl LX between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks will be played at Levi's Stadium on Sunday, February 8. Given the intense rivalry between the San Francisco 49ers and the Seahawks, one of the team's stars made it clear which side he'll be pulling for.
All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner recently joined the St. Brown Podcast, hosted by Amon-Ra St. Brown and his brother, Equanimeous St. Brown, where he was asked about his rooting interest for the championship game.
"I like the Patriots by 50," Warner said with a laugh. "Nah, I'm playing. Clip that. Clip it. Look, if you're just looking on paper, Seattle is stacked. They loaded. Not to say that the Patriots don't have a lot of good players. They do. But it's hard to find a weakness right now with Seattle.
"But at the end of the day, there's a reason why you play the game. It's not about who the better team is because I played in two Super Bowls, and both times, I thought we were the best team on the field that day. Or not that day—I felt we were the best team on the field when we went into that game. Just stacked across the board."
Warner added that Super Bowls often come down to which team can perform at its best for a full 60 minutes, making the matchup on February 8 one he's especially interested in watching.
H/t to Florito Maniego of NBC Sports Bay Area for the find.
