San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings' future remains uncertain. After expressing frustration over his contract last year, the team restructured the final year of his deal, allowing the fan-favorite to earn additional incentives.
Jennings is set to become a free agent in March. With general manager John Lynch confirming that Brandon Aiyuk has likely played his last snap with the 49ers, retaining Jennings could become a top priority. And from Lynch's comments, it's clear the team would love to keep him.

"First of all, let me just speak to Jauan," Lynch said during the 49ers' end-of-season press conference. "Gosh, the passion that guy plays the game with is something I admire, and always have. And this year was no different. He dealt with a lot of injuries throughout the course of the year, but Jauan always plays with passion.
"We can always count on Jauan. We can move him around. He blocks. He does the little things."
Jennings' physical style of play occasionally drew negative attention from opponents. In one game against the Carolina Panthers, safety Tre'Von Moehrig struck Jennings below the belt, prompting Jennings to retaliate afterward. Moehrig was suspended for one game without pay, while Jennings was fined $12,172.
"You can see by the way the other players respond," Lynch said. "He plays the right way, and I think it frustrates other people. He makes us better. We'd love to have him back. We'll go to work to try to get that accomplished, and we'll see where that goes."
When asked on Monday if he expects to return to the 49ers next season, Jennings responded, "We'll see."
Still, he emphasized how much Santa Clara has become home for him and how meaningful his time with the team has been.
"Now, it's home," Jennings said. "It quickly turned into home, and it's a run I'll never forget, for sure."
