The San Francisco 49ers have added offensive line depth by signing Zachary Thomas to a reserve/future contract.
Thomas (6-5, 308) was originally selected by the Chicago Bears in the sixth round (No. 186 overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. Over his four-year NFL career, he has spent time with the Bears (2022), Los Angeles Rams (2022–24), New England Patriots (2024), Houston Texans (2024–25), and Indianapolis Colts (2025).
During the 2025 season, Thomas joined the Texans' practice squad on December 16 before being released on December 30.
A 27-year-old native of Carlsbad, California, Thomas played collegiately at San Diego State from 2016 to 2021. He appeared in 49 games, making 31 starts along the offensive line, and now joins the 49ers as they aim to build depth up front.
