San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch is once again seeing key members of his front office draw interest from around the NFL.
According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Atlanta Falcons have requested permission to interview 49ers director of scouting and football operations Josh Williams for their open President of Football position.
The #Falcons have sent a request to interview #49ers exec Josh Williams for President of Football job, source said.
He already has a GM interview lined up with #Dolphins and was a finalist for the #Jaguars GM last year.

The Falcons aren't the only team showing interest in the longtime 49ers executive. The Miami Dolphins have also requested an interview with Williams for their general manager job, along with 49ers assistant general manager RJ Gillen and vice president of player personnel Tariq Ahmad.
As Rapoport noted, Williams was a finalist for the Jacksonville Jaguars' general manager position last offseason before the team ultimately hired James Gladstone.
In his current role, Williams oversees both pro and college scouting, contributes to player development, and plays a significant role in contract negotiations.
Williams has spent 15 seasons with the 49ers and has steadily climbed the organizational ladder. He served as a national scout from 2022–23, an area scout from 2017–21, and a national football scouting representative in 2016. He originally joined the 49ers in 2011 as a scouting assistant, then was promoted to pro personnel scout in 2013, a position he held for three seasons.
