There's plenty at stake Saturday night when the San Francisco 49ers host the Seattle Seahawks at Levi's Stadium. The winner not only claims the NFC West crown but also secures the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs and home-field advantage.
For the 49ers, that top seed would be especially meaningful. It could set the stage for up to four more straight games at Levi's Stadium—including Super Bowl LX, should they advance that far.
San Francisco is coming off an intense 42-38 win over the Chicago Bears. Early betting odds opened with the 49ers favored by 1.5 points over the Seahawks in their regular-season finale, but that line narrowed to just one point by Monday morning (over/under: 49.5), per BetMGM. Expect continued movement as the week goes on.
Update: As of Monday afternoon, the Seahawks are favored by one point.
There is one drawback for Kyle Shanahan's team: this marks the second straight short week. The 49ers faced the Indianapolis Colts on Monday, December 22, the Bears on Sunday, December 28, and now host the Seahawks on Saturday, January 3.
After beating Chicago, Shanahan was asked about the challenge of another short game-week schedule.
"I wish it wasn't," Shanahan said. "I mean, we just had a short week, so I really wish it would've been Sunday, but it is what it is. Hopefully, the guys can heal up and be ready to go."
Kickoff for 49ers-Seahawks at Levi's Stadium is set for 5 p.m. local time on Saturday.
