The Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Indianapolis Colts 36-19 on Sunday, further dimming Indy's playoff hopes. A significant setback compounded the loss—quarterback Daniel Jones is out for the season after suffering a torn Achilles during the Week 14 defeat.
Jones had become an intriguing storyline this year, revitalizing his career in his first season with the Colts after struggling to impress during his first six NFL seasons. The former first-round draft pick had already been playing through a left fibula injury before sustaining this latest season-ending blow.

Rookie quarterback Riley Leonard, a sixth-round draft pick, stepped in for Jones against the Jaguars. He finished the game 18-of-29 for 145 yards and an interception.
The Colts opened the season with a strong 7-1 start but have now dropped three straight and four of their last five, falling to 8-5. Indianapolis will face the Seattle Seahawks next weekend before hosting the San Francisco 49ers in a pivotal Week 16 matchup.
Meanwhile, the 49ers are preparing to host the Tennessee Titans before beginning a challenging three-game finish against the Colts, Chicago Bears, and Seahawks to close out the regular season.
