According to Matt Barrows of The Athletic, the San Francisco 49ers worked out three kickers on Tuesday as they search for a temporary replacement for Eddy Piñeiro, who is expected to miss time with a Grade 1 right hamstring strain suffered during Sunday's win over the Arizona Cardinals.
The three kickers brought in for a tryout were Tanner Brown, Anders Carlson, and John Parker Romo.

* Tanner Brown
* Anders Carlson
* John Parker Romo
Brown has spent time with the Los Angeles Rams and Atlanta Falcons since entering the NFL in 2023, but has yet to appear in a regular-season game.
Carlson appeared in two games with the 49ers in 2024, so there is some familiarity there. He has also played for the Green Bay Packers and New York Jets, appearing in 24 career games and converting 40 of his 48 field-goal attempts. Carlson was with the Jets for five games last season, working with current 49ers special teams coordinator Brant Boyer and holder Thomas Morstead.
Romo, who entered the league in 2022, has appeared in games with the Minnesota Vikings. He spent this season with the Atlanta Falcons before being waived on November 4. Romo has connected on 22 of his 26 career field-goal attempts.
The 49ers may have already decided which kicker they plan to sign. However, no move will appear on the NFL transaction wire until Wednesday at the earliest. With San Francisco not playing again until Monday night, the team's first practice of the week is scheduled for Thursday.
Update: Matt Barrows reports that the 49ers have not yet chosen a kicker and will hold additional tryouts on Wednesday.
Update: There's no winner today because the 49ers will have more kicker tryouts tomorrow. The plot kickens. https://t.co/HTFN0yUlnR
