San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan met with reporters Wednesday afternoon ahead of the team's first full practice of Week 8 as they prepare to face the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium on Sunday.
Shanahan confirmed that quarterback Brock Purdy (toe) will be a limited participant in practice. Purdy was limited throughout last week before being ruled out against the Atlanta Falcons.
Cornerbacks Renardo Green (toe) and Upton Stout (ankle) will also be limited.
Meanwhile, offensive lineman Spencer Burford is set to return to practice after spending time on injured reserve since September 20 due to a knee injury. He, too, will be limited.
Several key players, however, won't practice on Wednesday. That list includes wide receiver Ricky Pearsall (knee), cornerback Deommodore Lenoir (quad), center Jake Brendel (hamstring), defensive end Bryce Huff (hamstring), and defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos (knee, hamstring). Pearsall has not played since Week 4. Brendel and Huff suffered their injuries against the Falcons. Shanahan confirmed that Lenoir was also injured during the game.
Additionally, running back Christian McCaffrey and tackle Trent Williams will have a scheduled rest day.
