The San Francisco 49ers have placed wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling on the injured reserve list after he suffered a calf injury during practice this week.
"We sent him for an MRI," head coach Kyle Shanahan said on Thursday. "I haven't got the news back yet, but it's something with his calf, which usually isn't that good."
The 49ers Communications staff provided the following rundown.
Valdes-Scantling (6-4, 206) initially joined the 49ers' practice squad on August 28, 2025, before being promoted to the active roster on September 3. He has appeared in five games this season, recording four receptions for 40 yards, averaging 10.0 yards per catch.
