The NFL transaction wire reported that the San Francisco 49ers worked out seven defensive players on Tuesday as the team continues evaluating roster options following a 4-1 start to the season.
The team has also terminated the contract of defensive back Jaylen Mahoney from the practice squad. The move will likely be officially announced by the 49ers on Wednesday, along with any potential signings resulting from the workouts.
San Francisco is gearing up for its upcoming matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and will return to the practice field on Wednesday afternoon.
