The San Francisco 49ers have a game this week. Not one that counts, or one that even has much meaning. Although it is meaningful to some young players trying to make the team. Friday night we get our first look at some of the new 49ers we've yet to see, as San Francisco squares off with the Green Bay Packers. Who will play? Who won't play? What if Trey Lance looks bad? We have answers to all your team questions and more. Let's open the mailbag. What will Shanahan do if Lance stays around a 50 percent comp % in camp and preseason? The sports world lost an icon on Tuesday. Legendary sports broadcaster Vin Scully died at the age of 94. Scully, best known as the long-time voice of the Los Angeles Dodgers, also called other sports during his illustrious career. The world awaits news on Jimmy Garoppolo. Will he be traded or released? Where will he go? Will he be a starter or a backup? How does he get his hair to look so nice? I wish we already had the answer to those questions. The good

Naming the best player in the NFL can create much discussion and debate. If you ask San Francisco 49ers defenders, the answer isn't too difficult. Take Dre Greenlaw, for instance. Greenlaw was recently asked about going against nine-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle Trent Williams in practice. The first words out of the fourth-year linebacker's mouth prove how much his teammates respect Williams. "Trent's the best player in the NFL, for sure. No doubt," Greenlaw told reporters on Monday. "In that regard, you better know your leverage. If you've got a guy like Trent coming at you, you better know if you're supposed to be inside of him or outside of him because if you go down the middle, he going to flatten you." That's the best player in the NFL. The entire
