Quarterback play
As far as quarterback play went, Brock Purdy held a slight edge over Trevor Lawrence. Purdy finished the game 22-of-33 for 309 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. He also lost a fumble, making him directly responsible for three of the 49ers' four turnovers.
Purdy earned a 61.7 offensive grade, while Lawrence tallied a 60.9 grade.
Highest marks
While Jaguars tight end Hunter Long earned the game's best overall grade (93.9), linebacker Fred Warner's 90.9 defensive grade was the highest among his 49ers teammates.
On offense, left tackle Trent Williams' 78.4 offensive grade led the team.
Blocking
Trent Williams was the game's highest-graded (78.4) offensive lineman. Right tackle Colton McKivitz came in second with a 77.1 offensive grade.
Williams also earned the game's best run-blocking grade (82.3), while McKivitz recorded the team's best pass-blocking grade (75.9).
The lowest-graded offensive lineman was center Jake Brendel, who earned a 62.2 offensive grade.
In total, the 49ers' offensive line surrendered 14 pressures.

Rushing
Running back Brian Robinson Jr. finished with five carries for 21 yards, earning a team-leading 68.3 run grade. Quarterback Brock Purdy came in second with a 65.5 (two carries for 13 yards) run grade, while starter Christian McCaffrey earned a 60.5 run grade on 17 carries for just 49 yards.
Pass rush
The 49ers defense tallied just five total pressures and no sacks in their first game without defensive end Nick Bosa, who is out for the season with a torn ACL.
Defensive end Bryce Huff was the 49ers' highest-graded pass rusher, logging a team-high two pressures and earning a 68.7 pass-rush grade. Defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos came in second with a 67.8 pass-rush grade.
The lowest pass-rush grade went to rookie defensive end Mykel Williams, who earned a 51.5 mark in that category.

Pass defense
Linebacker Fred Warner's 92.0 coverage grade was the best in the game. The next-highest on the team went to safety Jason Pinnock, who earned a 65.8. Warner allowed three catches for just 20 yards on four targets.
Linebacker Dee Winters earned the team's lowest coverage grade (46.4), giving up six catches for 46 yards on eight targets.
Tackling
Dee Winters was the 49ers' highest-graded tackler with an 81.3 grade in that category. The lowest tackling grade (29.3) went to rookie cornerback Upton Stout, who also led the team with two missed tackles.
As a group, the 49ers' defense missed seven tackles against the Jaguars.
