The San Francisco 49ers received a much-needed boost on Tuesday as several key players returned to practice just in time for the team's preseason finale against the Los Angeles Chargers.
According to multiple reports, the following players were back on the field after missing time with injuries:
The returns come as welcome news for a 49ers roster that has been hit hard by injuries throughout the preseason. However, the team is dealing with a new setback.
Backup quarterback Mac Jones, the primary reserve behind Brock Purdy, did not practice after reportedly sustaining a knee injury in Saturday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Fortunately, the injury is not believed to be serious.
To address the development, San Francisco signed veteran quarterback Nate Sudfeld to a one-year deal. To make room on the roster, running back Patrick Taylor Jr. was placed on injured reserve after suffering a dislocated shoulder against the Raiders.
