The San Francisco 49ers parted ways with several players on Monday, including promising undrafted free-agent wide receiver Isaiah Neyor. Initially, Neyor went unclaimed on waivers, leaving open the possibility that the 49ers might bring him back after their first preseason game. That scenario is now off the table.
According to The Athletic's Matt Barrows, Neyor is signing with the Green Bay Packers.

At 6-foot-4, Neyor was among the tallest wide receivers on San Francisco's roster and had started to make an impression on the coaching staff.
"I think he's done a good job," head coach Kyle Shanahan recently said. "I mean, all those guys are getting a lot of reps, and we've got a lot of young guys getting opportunities. He got a lot of opportunities in OTAs. We've been moving him around."
Shanahan later explained that injuries had forced the team to make difficult roster decisions, with a joint practice against the Denver Broncos looming this week.
San Francisco needed additional bodies to get through the week, leading to the roster moves. That's the reason the team ended the kicker competition between Jake Moody and Greg Joseph earlier than expected, releasing the latter.
Two other former 49ers were claimed off waivers—cornerback Tre Avery by the New England Patriots and tight end Mason Pline by the New Orleans Saints. Quarterback Tanner Mordecai remains available.
