The San Francisco 49ers will host their rookie minicamp on May 9–10 and will need a quarterback to throw to the offensive players in attendance. According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, the team has invited Wake Forest quarterback Hank Bachmeier to participate.

Bachmeier (6-1, 210) passed for 11,256 yards, 67 touchdowns, and 34 interceptions over his collegiate career, which also included stints at Boise State and Louisiana Tech.
In 2024, he started 11 games for Wake Forest, throwing for 2,593 yards, 16 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions while completing 62.7% of his passes. He also added a career-high 140 rushing yards and one touchdown on 96 carries.
San Francisco selected Indiana quarterback Kurtis Rourke in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft. However, he is recovering from knee surgery in January and will not participate in the rookie minicamp.
The rest of the 49ers' quarterback room includes Brock Purdy, Mac Jones, and Tanner Mordecai.
