With the 2025 NFL Draft just a week away, mock drafts are surfacing rapidly. Among the latest are three from CBS Sports contributors, including one that predicts the San Francisco 49ers will trade up to address a critical need—finding an eventual successor to All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams.
There is also one from Pro Football Network and USA Today, with many more likely to come in the next handful of days.
49ers trade up for O-line help
CBS Sports' Josh Edwards projects the 49ers will move up three spots to select Missouri offensive tackle Armand Membou, a prospect frequently linked to San Francisco.

In this scenario, the 49ers send the No. 11 overall pick and a third-round selection to the Carolina Panthers to move up to No. 8.
"San Francisco has invested in offensive tackle over the years trading for and paying Trent Williams and drafting Mike McGlinchey in the first round," Edwards noted. "Williams may only have one or two more years left in his career. The 49ers do not want to find themselves in a position where they have to address both offensive tackle positions in the same offseason with limited resources. They make the move now and it costs them the No. 75 overall selection this year."
Edwards' mock draft is a full seven-round projection. Here are his remaining picks for the 49ers:
- Round 2, Pick 43: DT Shemar Turner, Texas A&M
- Round 3, Pick 100: DE Jared Ivey, Ole Miss
- Round 4, Pick 113: DE Sai'vion Jones, LSU
- Round 4, Pick 138: CB Denzel Burke, Ohio State
- Round 5, Pick 147: WR Keandre Lambert-Smith, Auburn
- Round 5, Pick 160: LB Cody Simon, Ohio State
- Round 7, Pick 227: DT Warren Brinson, Georgia
- Round 7, Pick 249: C Eli Cox, Kentucky
- Round 7, Pick 252: CB Alijah Huzzie, North Carolina
Others have 49ers targeting pass rushers
Two other CBS Sports analysts have the 49ers standing pat at No. 11 and focusing on edge defenders to bolster their defensive line. Emory Hunt has San Francisco selecting Georgia defensive end Mykel Williams in the first round.

"Rebuilding the trenches on both sides of the ball will be a focal point of the draft for the 49ers," Hunt wrote. "They get things started off right with the excellent edge defender out of Georgia."
Meanwhile, Jordan Dajani has the 49ers drafting Georgia linebacker Jalon Walker, who could help fill the void left by Dre Greenlaw's exit while also assisting Nick Bosa in pressuring opposing quarterbacks.

"San Francisco drafts a player who may be the second-best EDGE in this class at No. 11 overall," Dajani wrote. "Jalon Walker led Georgia with 11.5 sacks over the past two seasons, but can also line up at inside linebacker as a Dre Greenlaw replacement."
Defense in focus for first two rounds
Pro Football Network contributor Cameron Sheath also released a two-round mock draft. He has the 49ers using the No. 11 pick on Michigan cornerback Will Johnson, a name often associated with San Francisco in first-round projections.

While Sheath acknowledges Membou would be a perfect fit in the first round, he questions whether the 49ers can afford to trade up, given their depth concerns across the roster.
"Will Johnson's physical tools are obvious, but his playmaking mentality and route recognition make him a seriously valuable prospect," Sheath commented. "He gets the most out of his tools because of his aggression in coverage. That can come back to bite him sometimes, but more often than not, it helps him make plays other cornerbacks simply can't."
Sheath adds that Johnson is widely seen as being on par with Colorado's Travis Hunter in this year's cornerback class.
"While he wouldn't be running routes for Brock Purdy, he'd give the 49ers a big presence in the secondary," Sheath added.
In the second round, Sheath has San Francisco continuing its defensive focus by selecting South Carolina defensive tackle T.J. Sanders at No. 43.
49ers add Texas tackle in joint mock draft
In a joint mock draft conducted by USA Today beat writers, Ayrton Ostly made the selection for San Francisco. He also targeted offensive line help, projecting Texas offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. to the 49ers at No. 11, another top prospect frequently linked to the team.

"The 49ers' tackle future is murky as Trent Williams hits his age-37 season and Colton McKivitz hits free agency in 2026," Ostly wrote. "Banks has the wingspan to become a starter at tackle long-term and work in at guard as a rookie if need be."
