San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey and his wife, Olivia Culpo, have announced they are expecting their first child. Culpo shared the news on Instagram with the caption, "next chapter, motherhood."
The couple also posted a heartwarming video from their maternity photo session.
Christian and Olivia tied the knot on June 29, 2024, in a beautiful ceremony in Rhode Island, and now they look forward to parenthood.
McCaffrey, the No. 8 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, began his career with the Carolina Panthers before being traded to the 49ers in 2022. Injuries plagued his 2024 season, as he missed the first eight games with Achilles tendinitis. After returning in Week 10, he suffered a PCL injury in Week 13 against the Buffalo Bills, prematurely ending his season.
Despite the setbacks, McCaffrey remains a key part of San Francisco's future. He finished the season with 50 carries for 202 yards and no touchdowns, while the 49ers struggled to a 6-11 record.
"He's doing great," general manager John Lynch said last month at the NFL Scouting Combine. "Christian's doing really well, and I think [he] was real frustrated with the way last season went, and doing everything that is possible, as he did in preparation for last year. And we're hoping CMC's out there and going to have a tremendous year.
"If he's healthy, he will have a tremendous year. That's just what he does."
