Action Network recently released a list of the most-fined NFL teams during the 2024 season (h/t Niners Wire), with the San Francisco 49ers ranking ninth.
The Houston Texans topped the list, accumulating $3.15 million in fines—largely due to defensive end Denico Autry, who was fined $2 million for a PED violation that led to a six-game suspension. No other team exceeded the $1 million mark in fines.
According to the report, the 49ers incurred $418,655 in fines, a significant portion of which were imposed on one player—linebacker De'Vondre Campbell.
San Francisco suspended Campbell for three games after he refused to take the field in Week 15 against the Los Angeles Rams. His fines totaled $261,666, ranking 10th among all NFL players.
No other 49ers player appeared in the top 100 most-fined players. Linebacker Fred Warner was the next closest, coming in at 101st with $16,883 in fines.
Campbell has yet to provide a clear explanation for his actions. Instead, he recently went on a vulgar social media rant in response to criticism from fans and the media, further damaging his reputation. His actions are unlikely to be viewed favorably by other NFL teams.
He showed no remorse, stating, "I ain't addressing s--t. I'm rich and never have to work another day of my life and I told Kyle Shannahan and John Lynch that when they FaceTime me and begged me to come out there an hour after Green Bay cut me I really be sparing n----s."
On the opposite end, the Jacksonville Jaguars were the least-fined team, accumulating just $107,918 in penalties.
