If you drive by Levi's Stadium now, you'll notice a significant change. No, the San Francisco 49ers aren't adding shade to their Santa Clara-based home stadium. Instead of seeing something new, you'll notice something missing—the video scoreboards.
According to 49ers president Al Guido, new scoreboards are being installed in preparation for the stadium hosting Super Bowl LX on February 8, 2026.
"So all the digital footprint of the building has completely changed," Guido said in New Orleans, ahead of Sunday's Super Bowl. "So when you walk back in next [season], it'll be the largest square footage of video boards in the entire National Football League. So very, very different."
The video boards aren't the only upgrades planned as the stadium prepares to host one of the biggest sporting events in the world.
"You're going to see bunch of new fan experiences within the concession stands, the plazas, the parking lots," Guido continued.
He noted that the team has invested $250 million into Levi's Stadium since it opened in 2014. Guido acknowledged that the early fan experience had its challenges as the team worked out the kinks in the new venue. He thanked The Faithful for their patience during that time.
"The good news is the Super Bowl people will see it (the changes), but our fans will actually see it first," Guido added. "When they walk in in August, all of those changes will be there."
