49ers sign CB Rock Ya-Sin to a one-year deal

The San Francisco 49ers announced that they have signed cornerback Rock Ya-Sin to a one-year deal. He becomes the third cornerback to join the team this offseason. The Niners previously signed free agents Isaac Yiadom and Chase Lucas to one-year deals.

The 49ers Communications staff provided the following rundown.



Ya-Sin (5-11, 195) was originally drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the second round (34th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft. Throughout his five-year NFL career with the Colts (2019-21), Las Vegas Raiders (2022), and Baltimore Ravens (2023), he has appeared in 66 games (40 starts) and registered 193 tackles, 29 passes defensed, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. In 2023, Ya-Sin appeared in 14 games (one start) and registered 12 tackles and two passes defensed with Baltimore. He also appeared in one postseason contest.

A 27-year-old native of Decatur, GA, Ya-Sin attended Presbyterian College (2015-17) before transferring to Temple University (2018), where he appeared in 12 games and registered 47 tackles, 14 passes defensed, and two interceptions.

49ers sign 6th-round draft pick Jarrett Kingston to 4-yr, $4.16 million rookie deal

The San Francisco 49ers have reportedly signed former USC offensive lineman Jarrett Kingston to his rookie four-year deal. The team made him a sixth-round draft pick, selecting him 215th overall in the 2024 NFL Draft. This leaves wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, the team's first-round selection, as the only unsigned 49ers draft pick. According to OverTheCap.com, Kingston's four-year contract is worth about $4.16 million. This includes a signing bonus of approximately $138,000 and a 2024 salary-cap hit of about $830,000. When asked about his pre-draft evaluations, Kingston said, "I feel like I am athletic. I think whatever like the ratings were, but I feel like I'm really athletic. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Atlanta Falcons have signed former San Francisco 49ers tight end Ross Dwelley, who became an unrestricted free agent on March 13.
