As expected, Michigan's Pro Day has a significant NFL presence. The event features 18 draft-eligible players from the national champion's roster. Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy reports that San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch is among those in attendance.

Lynch is one of nine general managers on hand to evaluate the draft hopefuls.

The following 18 players will be working out in front of NFL evaluators. The list includes several offensive linemen.

  • TE AJ Barner
  • LB Michael Barrett
  • OT Karsen Barnhart
  • LB Junior Colson
  • RB Blake Corum
  • DE Jaylen Harrell
  • OT LaDarius Henderson
  • DL Kris Jenkins
  • WR Cornelius Johnson
  • OT Trente Jones
  • OG Trevor Keegan
  • QB J.J. McCarthy
  • DL Braiden McGregor
  • C Drake Nugent
  • CB Mike Sainristil
  • CB Josh Wallace
  • WR Roman Wilson
  • OG Zak Zinter

San Francisco could be in the market for several of the positions represented in Schembechler Hall on the Ann Arbor campus. While the team aggressively revamped its defensive line in free agency, the offensive line was left relatively untouched, with all of last season's starters slated to return. It's an area that is expected to be addressed in the draft.

The 49ers might also look to add depth to the defensive backfield with safety Talanoa Hufanga still recovering from the torn ACL he sustained in November and some uncertainty at one cornerback position.

Lynch may keep a close eye on 6-3, 300-pound Kris Jenkins as an option for the interior of the defensive line or wide receiver Roman Wilson, who led the team last season with 789 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns and ran the 40-yard dash in 4.39 seconds at the NFL Scouting Combine.

"We'll get a good sleep right now. We'll wake up. Tomorrow will be a busy day and a fun day. We've got a lot of picks. We just got to make them count; all of them count." San Francisco has nine more draft picks, barring any trades. The team's next pick is currently the 63rd overall selection toward the end of the second

Transcript provided by the San Francisco 49ers Communications staff. We were just on the conference call with OL Dominick Puni and he suggested that you guys are probably looking at him as a guard, obviously he played tackle as well. What's the plan for him? John Lynch: "Yeah, our belief is that we're going to start him on the inside as a guard. But the cool thing about Dominick is, it's not often you can say this about a player, that he can play all five. And we believe that's the case with him. He snapped in practice, he snapped in the Senior Bowl

Breaking down the 49ers drafts under John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan

By Marc Adams

We are less than one week away from the NFL Draft, and the San Francisco 49ers have their first day-one draft pick since 2021. That was the year they selected QB Trey Lance number three overall. The trade-up to get Lance cost the 49ers their first-round picks in 2022 and 2023. And now that they are back in the first round, at pick 31, fans are anxious to see what the team does with the pick. And with former assistant GM, Adam Peters, now in Washington, it will be interesting to see how well the 49ers draft without Peters in the room. We looked back at the seven drafts GM John Lynch and Head Coach Kyle Shanahan have led to see what information we could pull from those drafts. There were plenty of hits, plenty of misses, and a few surprises along the way. The draft picks are
