Sportsbooks have unveiled their early odds for Super Bowl LIX (59), scheduled to take place at the Caesars Superdome on Sunday, February 9, 2025. Despite falling short against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII (58), the San Francisco 49ers emerge as the favored team for next season's championship game, according to DraftKings Sportsbook.

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the top five teams with the best odds to win Super Bowl LIX are as follows:

  • San Francisco 49ers, +550
  • Kansas City Chiefs, +650
  • Baltimore Ravens, +900
  • Buffalo Bills, +1000
  • Detroit Lions, +1200

Conversely, the Carolina Panthers are at the bottom of the list with odds of +25000. Among NFC West teams, the Los Angeles Rams trail behind the 49ers with odds of +3500.

None of this offers consolation for the defeated 49ers, who will remain haunted by the disappointment of Sunday's loss and the missed opportunities it entailed. They will carry that heartbreak with them throughout the offseason.

"I hurt the most for the players," head coach Kyle Shanahan said after the game. "I can't tell you guys how long it takes to get here and just how long an NFL season is, going through January and all the way into February. So our guys, I hurt for them the most."

Mock Draft 2.0: 49ers address O-line early

By Wayne P. Brown
Mar 3

It's mock draft season, and the San Francisco 49ers have a few areas that must be addressed in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft. Here is my mock draft 2.0 via the Pro Football Network Mock Draft simulator. Round 1, Pick 31 Tyler Guyton, RT, Oklahoma Tyler Guyton is raw, but his athleticism and measurables put him at the top of my list. He is 6'8" 322 lbs with 34 1/8' arms and 10 1/4" hands. Guyton played 663 snaps at the right tackle position, allowing 12 pressures (0 Sacks, 3 hits, 9 hurries). He began his career on the left side of the offensive line before being moved to the right side in 2023. If drafted by the 49ers, Guyton will have the best mentor in the NFL, Trent Williams, in his corner. Round 2, Pick

49ers DC candidate is brutally honest about team's Super Bowl defeat, Wilks firing

By David Bonilla
Feb 29

Kansas City Chiefs defensive backs coach Dave Merritt clearly has no qualms about speaking his mind. He is a candidate to replace former San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Steve Wilks, who was fired following the team's Super Bowl defeat against the Chiefs. Wilks spent just one season with the 49ers. Merritt recently participated in a radio interview on "The Sports Show" and attributed at least part of the blame for San Francisco's crushing defeat to head coach Kyle Shanahan's offense. "Their offense went 3-for-12 on third down," Merritt said, per Niners Wire. "Our offense went 9-for-19, but if your offense

Five things the 49ers must do this offseason to return to the Super Bowl

By Marc Adams
Feb 24

The San Francisco 49ers are no strangers to coming up just short of winning the Super Bowl. And neither are their fans. Now that the offseason has begun, the 49ers will look to reload and try to get better, as challenging as that may be. Teams that lose the Super Bowl sometimes struggle the next season. Go back to the 2020 season and you can see some of the evidence. After falling short in Super Bowl LIV, the injury bug bit the 49ers hard, and San Francisco finished the season with a 6-10 record, good for last in the NFC West. Now the 49ers need to find a way to not allow that to happen in 2024. While some recent Super Bowl losers haven't struggled the way the 2020 49ers did, only the 2018 New England Patriots have returned to the Super Bowl the year after losing
