This Monday morning, Ian Rapoport reported that 49ers assistant special teams coach, Matt Harper, has interviewed for the New York Giants vacant special teams coach position.

Harper, son of former 49ers linebacker Willie Harper, is a Bay Area native. He's been with the 49ers since 2021 after having spent the previous eight years with the Philadelphia Eagles coaching staff.
Harper joins a list of 49ers coaches who have already received interest in this year's hiring cycle including defensive coordinator Steve Wilks and passing game coordinator Klint Kubiak.
