The NFL has unveiled the Week 17 playoff scenarios, outlining the potential route for the San Francisco 49ers to secure the NFC's top seed, guaranteeing a first-round bye and home-field advantage throughout the postseason. The initial step involves securing a victory over the Washington Commanders at FedEx Field on Sunday. Following that, they will need assistance from other teams.
To clinch the top seed, the 49ers must also see the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles lose their Week 17 matchups. The Lions are set to face the Dallas Cowboys on the road, while the Eagles will host the Arizona Cardinals. Dallas is currently a six-point favorite, and Philadelphia is a 10.5-point favorite in their respective games.
The 49ers are heavy 13.5-point favorites over the Commanders. Following their journey to the East Coast, Kyle Shanahan's squad will return home to conclude the regular season against the Los Angeles Rams.
Below is the current playoff seed order in the NFC, with division leaders highlighted.
