The San Francisco 49ers are facing challenges on the defensive line as they approach their Week 16 matchup with the Baltimore Ravens. Starters Javon Hargrave and Arik Armstead are attempting to make comebacks from injuries, with Hargrave dealing with a hamstring issue and Armstead managing foot and knee problems.
According to the player's agent, the 49ers are reportedly signing defensive tackle Taylor Stallworth to the practice squad in response to the deteriorating depth. This move, and any other roster moves, will likely be officially announced later today.
The San Francisco 49ers just signed my client Taylor Stallworth to their practice squad. 6th year veteran D-Tackle recently came off IR with the Tennessee Titans.
Stallworth (6-2, 300) entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the New Orleans Saints in 2018, having played with the Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans this season. The Titans placed him on the injured reserve list on October 25 before releasing him on November 14.
Stallworth, 28, has amassed 52 tackles, seven tackles for a loss, 14 quarterback hits, 4.5 sacks, and a pass defensed in 58 game appearances with two starts through his six NFL seasons. In addition to the Saints, Texans, and Titans, Stallworth made game appearances with the Indianapolis Colts and Kansas City Chiefs.
The San Francisco 49ers are reportedly adding defensive end Bradlee Anae, according to Save the Stallions. Anae most recently played for the Birmingham Stallions of the United Football League (UFL), where he emerged as one of the league's top pass rushers.
