Christian McCaffrey rushed for 1,139 yards last season, marking his third time surpassing 1,000 yards in his NFL career. Of course, he accomplished this feat during his time with the Carolina Panthers and San Francisco 49ers.

Entering Week 13, McCaffrey led the league with 939 rushing yards, requiring only 61 more to secure his fourth career season surpassing the 1,000-yard mark. He achieved this milestone in the third quarter against the Philadelphia Eagles, becoming the first 49ers running back to reach 1,000 rushing yards since Frank Gore did so in 2014 with 1,106 rushing yards.

McCaffrey was on pace for 1,451 rushing yards leading up to the game, a potential single-season career-high. Additionally, he was on track to rack up 2,052 all-purpose yards, which would be his highest single-season mark since 2019, when he earned 2,392 total yards.

This past week, McCaffrey reflected on having NFL coaches doubt his ability to run between the tackles. Upon his arrival in Santa Clara, he aimed to assure his coaches that he was a "complete" running back, unafraid of a hefty workload.

"When you go somewhere new, you don't know what they're thinking," McCaffrey shared. "I don't know if that was a validated conversation, but I felt like I needed to have it."

By Marc Adams
Feb 28

It's been a quiet couple of weeks for the San Francisco 49ers. Other than firing defensive coordinator Steve Wilks, and that little Super Bowl thing, there hasn't been much going on. But this week kicks off the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, and free agency is only a couple of weeks away. So things will soon pick up. GM John Lynch spoke with reporters at the Combine on Tuesday. And while he didn't give a lot of new information, there were still some highlights to discuss. So we opened up the 49ers Webzone Mailbag to see what questions you had about the team. Let's jump in and take a look. Who are you hoping for (as defensive coordinator)? - Brian J. I think we are all hoping for some big name from the outside, but I don't expect that to

Mel Kiper's latest mock draft has 49ers adding pass rusher at No. 31

By David Bonilla
Feb 28

ESPN analyst Mel Kiper unveiled his latest mock draft, projecting the 32 selections of the first round. For the first time since 2021, the San Francisco 49ers own a first-round selection and could use the pick to bolster the offensive line or the defensive backfield. However, Kiper has the team going in another direction. He proposes adding a pass rusher to complement defensive end Nick Bosa on the opposite side. Kiper's pick for San Francisco is Chop Robinson of Penn State. Kiper wrote, "It has to be offensive line or edge rusher for the 49ers, right? They need to find
