The San Francisco 49ers announced they have promoted the following players from the practice squad to the active roster ahead of tonight's game against the Minnesota Vikings. These are standard elevations, which means they will revert to the practice squad after the game.
Promoted from the practice squad:
- WR Chris Conley
- CB Shemar Jean-Charles
This is the second time Conley has been promoted from the practice squad and the third time for Jean-Charles.
Wide receiver Deebo Samuel has been ruled out of tonight's game. On Saturday, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan revealed that the team's do-everything wideout had suffered a hairline fracture in his shoulder and will miss the matchups against the Vikings and the Cincinnati Bengals. However, there is optimism for his return after the bye week on Sunday, November 12, when they face the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Running back Christian McCaffrey has been dealing with an oblique injury from the previous game against the Cleveland Browns. He's marked as "questionable" for tonight's game, but everything points toward the star playmaker suiting up. This morning, ESPN's Adam Schefter noted that McCaffrey would play.
Tackle Trent Williams showed tremendous grit by playing through an ankle injury sustained early in the Browns game. However, he didn't practice in the lead-up to tonight's matchup against the Vikings and is listed as "doubtful" for the Week 7 contest. Schefter reports that Williams would not play.
Linebacker Dre Greenlaw was inactive against the Browns due to a hamstring injury. He is listed as "questionable" for tonight's game.
San Francisco will officially announce its list of inactive players 90 minutes before kickoff.
