The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 4 contest against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Deebo Samuel continues to rack up the absences. For the third time this week, the wide receiver missed practice. He did not participate in Monday's bonus practice or Wednesday's session. Samuel was on the field for the team's walk-through on Thursday but left for the weight room once his teammates started stretching in preparation for practice.

Linebacker Dre Greenlaw returned to practice for the first time this week after missing time due to an ankle injury. Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk (shoulder) shed his blue no-contact jersey, a sign that he could be nearing a return after being among the 49ers' inactives last week against the New York Giants.

Jauan Jennings did not practice but was seen on a side field working alongside fellow receiver Danny Gray, who is currently on injured reserve due to an SC joint sprain.

Tackle Trent Williams returned to practice after having Wednesday off.

Below are Thursday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Cardinals, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.

49ers Notebook: Deebo Samuel backs up the smack; Brock Purdy returns to scene of injury; Jauan Jennings beats his favorite team

By Kirk Larrabee
Dec 3

It's not often that a player can back up copious amounts of trash talk the way Deebo Samuel did against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, but that's exactly what happened during the critical beatdown the 49ers unleashed on the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field. Samuel was among multiple 49ers players who expressed confidence over the offseason that the result in last season's NFC Championship game, won 31-7 by the Eagles, would have been different had quarterback Brock Purdy not suffered a season-ending elbow injury during the contest. No one was more vocal on that front than Samuel, who said things like "We lost because we played with ten people" while adding that the

While there were a number of highlights that took place for the 49ers in their 42-19 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, the most memorable moment might have come when things got heated between 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw and Eagles senior advisor to the general manager/chief security officer Dom DiSandro. The incident happened in the third quarter of Sunday's game with the 49ers holding a 21-6 lead. Greenlaw made a physical tackle on wide receiver DeVonta Smith near the Eagles sideline, which resulted in Greenlaw getting a 15-yard penalty. The tackle also prompted Eagles players, coaches and DiSandro to approach Greenlaw in Smith's defense. DiSandro put his hand on Greenlaw and gave him a slight push, after which Greenlaw poked DiSandro in the face. Both Greenlaw

The eagerly awaited Week 13 clash between the San Francisco 49ers and the Philadelphia Eagles is on the horizon. Following a Thanksgiving roasting of the Seattle Seahawks, the 49ers returned to the field on Monday for a bonus practice, gearing up for the NFC Championship Game rematch. Wide receivers Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk addressed reporters after practice, downplaying the emotional significance of Sunday's showdown between NFC powerhouses. Both players, vocal about their disappointment after last season's devastating defeat, had previously suggested that the better team failed to come out on top. Regarding the upcoming rematch, Samuel told reporters,
