The San Francisco 49ers eased worries earlier this week when signing star defensive end Nick Bosa to a five-year, $170 million extension, keeping him in the Bay Area for the foreseeable future.
However, given the struggle in getting the deal done, there were concerns that the 49ers could potentially trade Bosa, sparked by an unknown "Reddit" account.
Prior to Week 1, FOX's Jay Glazer confirmed that several teams were actually interested, calling to pique the 49ers' interest in trading for Nick Bosa, but got "the door slammed in their face."
What kind of work load will Nick Bosa have today for the #49ers? Also, what is the latest on the contract situation with Chris Jones, Justin Jefferson and others? @JayGlazer has the latest on this and more! pic.twitter.com/41NcHmhdks

"Five teams actually called the 49ers trying to trade for [Nick] Bosa thinking that a deal wasn't going to get done. Obviously, the door slammed in their face."
Earlier this week, prior to a deal getting done, the 49ers publicly shut down any thoughts of Bosa getting traded, sharing confidence that a deal would occur, with the main worry coming due to the timing, as Week 1 was dwindling.
Nonetheless, Bosa signed his new extension, and he'll play for the 49ers in Week 1, which is a huge sign in what could be a close game against the Steelers.
