49ers unlikely to play in overseas game in 2023

According to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area and Matt Barrows of The Athletic, the NFL is expected to release its 2023 schedule this week. It appears the San Francisco 49ers will not participate in an overseas international game for the upcoming season.

There was speculation that the 49ers might face the Jaguars in London, as the two teams are slated to play each other during the upcoming season. It will be a road game for San Francisco. Jacksonville will host their international competition.

"Team already has a pretty wicked east coast schedule and sending them another 3,000 miles eastward would be rough," wrote Barrows via Twitter.


Below is a list of San Francisco's 2023 opponents, which has been known since the end of this past season. It sounds like we'll finally learn the dates and times for each matchup this week.
