The 2023 Dwight Clark Legacy Series event is just days away. It takes place on Wednesday, May 10, at the California Theatre in San Jose (tickets still available).
Each year, a current San Francisco 49ers player is honored with the Dwight Clark Legacy Award, presented to a player who best exemplifies the late receiver's spirit of teamwork.
Tight end George Kittle was the first-ever recipient in 2021. Defensive lineman Arik Armstead earned the award last year. This year, the honor will go to star linebacker Fred Warner.

"I'm super excited to join many of our former 49ers in a night that honors the great and legendary Dwight Clark on May 10 at the California Theater in San Jose," Warner said in the video above. "It's an event that raises a ton of money for the Golden Heart Fund to support a lot of our former 49ers."
Warner will be part of a panel including Kyle Shanahan, Jerry Rice, Christian McCaffrey, John Taylor, and others, who will share stories that honor and celebrate the legacy of Dwight Clark.
"The Dwight Clark Legacy Series is an annual event featuring themed roundtable conversations with former and current 49ers, and the presentation of the Dwight Clark Award," describes the event's website.
The 49ers made Warner a third-round draft pick in 2018, and the linebacker has proven to be a leader and exceptional teammate both on and off the field. He is a two-time first-team All-Pro and a two-time Pro Bowl selection.
