The Texans made Johnson (6-2, 213) a second-round selection (No. 54 overall) out of Kentucky in 2019. He registered 11 tackles through 12 game appearances with the Titans last season, per Pro Football Reference. The defensive back spent four games on injured reserve this past season due to a hamstring injury.
Johnson played nearly 75 percent of his snaps at free safety with the Titans in 2022, per Pro Football Focus. However, he has some experience at cornerback, both on the outside and in the slot. During his rookie season, he played 72 percent of his rookie snaps at outside cornerback.
It's worth noting that the 49ers agreed to sign former Carolina Panthers safety Myles Hartsfield on Saturday.
Johnson, 27, has recorded 183 tackles, a tackle for a loss, three quarterback hits, 13 passes defensed, and three interceptions in 56 game appearances (19 starts) through his four NFL seasons with the Texans and Titans.
