Two NFL playoff teams praise 49ers CB Emmanuel Moseley

San Francisco 49ers cornerback Emmanuel Moseley didn't play much this past season, suffering a torn ACL in Week 5. However, it was enough to intrigue some NFL teams.

Moseley is slated to become an unrestricted free agent on Wednesday. Don't assume he will be an easy re-sign just because he is coming off a severe injury. According to Jordan Schultz of The Score, in talking with two playoff teams, it is clear that Moseley has earned some respect around the league.

"Have spoken with two playoff teams today who like him," Schultz wrote. "I'm also told Moseley will be 100 percent ready for camp. Only 26 years old, he had a pick-six, as well as 5 PBUs and 1 TFL before suffering a torn ACL last season."

Whether that means the cornerback would garner interest in free agency is unclear. However, the 49ers have expressed an interest in Moseley returning in 2023.

"He's a guy we'd have interest in bringing back because of the way he plays, but also what he stands for," general manager John Lynch said at the team's end-of-season press conference on February 1. "He's one of us and we'd sure like to have him back."

Moseley landed on injured reserve on October 15, 2022, and underwent surgery to repair his torn ACL 12 days later. He is now five months removed from his injury. The cornerback rehabbed in Los Angeles before returning to the 49ers' facility in Santa Clara, where he has been working out.

"E-man's doing really well," Lynch said. "... Most of the time, unless somebody's hit a complication, you typically hear (they're) doing really well, a little bit ahead of schedule, because these guys are elite athletes. And if you know Mose at all, his commitment to the process is going to be elite, and that's what he's done."

Moseley has spent his entire career with San Francisco, the team that signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee in 2018. He registered 22 tackles, a tackle for a loss, an interception, and five passes defensed through his five starts in 2022.
