Two NFL playoff teams praise 49ers CB Emmanuel Moseley

Mar 14, 2023 at 10:05 AM--

San Francisco 49ers cornerback Emmanuel Moseley didn't play much this past season, suffering a torn ACL in Week 5. However, it was enough to intrigue some NFL teams.

Moseley is slated to become an unrestricted free agent on Wednesday. Don't assume he will be an easy re-sign just because he is coming off a severe injury. According to Jordan Schultz of The Score, in talking with two playoff teams, it is clear that Moseley has earned some respect around the league.

"Have spoken with two playoff teams today who like him," Schultz wrote. "I'm also told Moseley will be 100 percent ready for camp. Only 26 years old, he had a pick-six, as well as 5 PBUs and 1 TFL before suffering a torn ACL last season."

Whether that means the cornerback would garner interest in free agency is unclear. However, the 49ers have expressed an interest in Moseley returning in 2023.

"He's a guy we'd have interest in bringing back because of the way he plays, but also what he stands for," general manager John Lynch said at the team's end-of-season press conference on February 1. "He's one of us and we'd sure like to have him back."

Moseley landed on injured reserve on October 15, 2022, and underwent surgery to repair his torn ACL 12 days later. He is now five months removed from his injury. The cornerback rehabbed in Los Angeles before returning to the 49ers' facility in Santa Clara, where he has been working out.

"E-man's doing really well," Lynch said. "... Most of the time, unless somebody's hit a complication, you typically hear (they're) doing really well, a little bit ahead of schedule, because these guys are elite athletes. And if you know Mose at all, his commitment to the process is going to be elite, and that's what he's done."

Moseley has spent his entire career with San Francisco, the team that signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee in 2018. He registered 22 tackles, a tackle for a loss, an interception, and five passes defensed through his five starts in 2022.

Nick Bosa was a monster in 2022. He'll probably be a monster again in 2023. The San Francisco 49ers pass rusher is the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year after leading the NFL with 18.5 sacks and frustrating so many opposing quarterbacks. It's no surprise to see Bosa on Next Gen Stats' list of the top 10 disruptors of 2022. The defensive end comes in at No. 2 in the ranking, with only Micah Parsons of the Dallas Cowboys ahead of him. After such an impressive campaign, why isn't Bosa listed in the top spot? "Well, it was a narrow miss," writer Nick Shook admits. "Bosa's totals are right up there with the top player on this

49ers kicker Jake Moody feels well-prepared for transition to the NFL

Reporters have had opportunities to watch San Francisco 49ers kicker Jake Moody during a handful of open practices in recent weeks. Some have even meticulously accrued detailed unofficial stats of the rookie's efforts to sail footballs between the uprights. The team's practice fields aren't the only places Moody has been kicking footballs, though. The rookie has been taking advantage of the proximity of the 49ers' home venue, Levi's Stadium, which sits next door. "Just having the facilities right next to the stadium has been pretty beneficial," Moody told KNBR's Markus Boucher and Greg Papa on Thursday. "For me, especially, because we've already kicked in the stadium as an operation multiple times, just trying to get used to all the different kind of wind

NFL.com prediction: Sam Darnold-led 49ers beat Jets in Super Bowl

Could Aaron Rodgers' miserable playoff luck against the San Francisco 49ers continue even after leaving the Green Bay Packers for the New York Jets? NFL.com's Adam Schein believes so. With the 2023 NFL season still 100 days away, the columnist made nine bold predictions, including head coach Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers finally earning the franchise's coveted sixth championship. Schein has the 49ers beating the Jets in Super Bowl 58, which will be played at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. "The 49ers are the best roster in the NFL, 2-53," Schein explained. "They just need to find that No. 1. Who's poised to man the game's
