On Wednesday, the NFLPA released a league-wide report card, gathering feedback from 1,300 surveyed players regarding several team areas, such as the conditions of the locker and weight rooms (h/t Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area for the find). The survey aimed to help organizations raise the standards across the league.

"Our goals were to highlight positive clubs, identify areas that could use improvement, and highlight best practices and standards," wrote the NFLPA.

How did the San Francisco 49ers grade out? Below are the resulting grades and where they ranked among the 32 NFL teams.

  • Treatment of families: B+ (Rank: T-5th)
  • Nutrition: A- (T-5th)
  • Weight Room: A- (T-9th)
  • Strength Staff: A (T-10th)
  • Training Room: C+ (T-17th)
  • Training Staff: A- (T-15th)
  • Locker Room: B+ (T-10th)
  • Travel: A- (T-9th)

The 49ers ranked No. 7 overall among all NFL clubs, earning positive marks in most areas. The one glaring negative mark is the team's training room conditions.

"The responses for the team were positive in all but one section: the training room, a crucial area for players to rehab and recover," stated the report. "The tubs and rehab pool are viewed as small and there are a lack of tables and space in the training room itself.

"Jed York ranked 7th among team owners for his willingness invest money into upgrading their facilities, so there is a belief that investment will be made to ensure these areas are upgraded to meet the high standards set by the rest of the facilities."

The Minnesota Vikings ranked No. 1 overall in football facilities, staff, and overall treatment of players. The Miami Dolphins followed them at No. 3, and the Las Vegas Raiders at No. 3.

USA Today grades 49ers' initial free-agency moves

By David Bonilla
Mar 21

Nate Davis of USA Today Sports recently published his free-agency grades for each NFL team. It's been over a week since the start of the new league year, when players no longer under contract are allowed to sign with other organizations, hoping to prove to their former teams that letting them walk was a mistake. While the San Francisco 49ers didn't make any attention-grabbing additions like they did last year with the Javon Hargrave signing, they did shake things up along the defensive line. The Niners bid farewell to their longest-tenured player, Arik Armstead, releasing him for salary cap savings

49ers reportedly sought No. 17 overall pick plus Jaguars player for Brandon Aiyuk

By David Bonilla

Mia O'Brien, a reporter for Jacksonville radio station 1010XL, was the first to link San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk to the Jacksonville Jaguars last week. A new report from O'Brien sheds light on the asking price for the star wide receiver, who is entering his fifth-year option. According to O'Brien, the 49ers sought the No. 17 overall pick, plus wide receiver Zay Jones, in exchange for Aiyuk. However, it seems this asking price was deemed too high for the Jaguars, who would have had to part ways with these assets and commit significant money to Aiyuk in the form of a contract

Will 49ers' position in one power ranking stir debate?

By David Bonilla
Mar 25

Power rankings in March don't mean much, given that the draft has yet to occur, but they offer an early glimpse into the media's perspective regarding each team's chances during the upcoming season. Fresh off a Super Bowl appearance and coming agonizingly close to securing their sixth Lombardi Trophy, the San Francisco 49ers approach the 2024 season with optimism. Despite enduring a gut-wrenching loss, their offseason moves signal a determined effort to bolster their roster for another run at Super Bowl glory. The 49ers' defensive front underwent significant renovations in free agency. The team parted ways with Arik Armstead but welcomed potential impact players like Leonard Floyd and Maliek Collins. Charvarius Ward willing to help 49ers land Tre'Davious White

By David Bonilla
Mar 18

The San Francisco 49ers likely aren't finished fortifying their defense and have reportedly expressed interest in bolstering their defensive backfield. If they require assistance making a significant move, one 49ers player is prepared to lend a helping hand. Last week, the Buffalo Bills released All-Pro cornerback Tre'Davious White, who appears to be an ideal fit for San Francisco's needs opposite Charvarius Ward. Over the weekend, Ward took to social media to reveal that he and White share the same agent and that he is willing to nudge the free-agent defensive back in the right direction. Ward described White as a "hand in glove
