Add the Indianapolis Colts to the list of teams interested in DeMeco Ryans. They have requested permission to interview the San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator for their head coaching vacancy, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Add the Colts to a list of interested teams that includes the Houston Texans, Denver Broncos, Carolina Panthers, and Arizona Cardinals. However, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer recently reported that the Panthers do not currently intend to host Ryans for an interview.
Colts submitted a request to interview 49ers defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans for their HC, per sources.
Ryan's schedule is jammed. He will start his HC interviews Thursday with the Broncos, and is expected to meet with Colts, Texans and Cardinals before Sunday's playoff game.
Ryans has been with the 49ers since 2017, replacing Robert Saleh as defensive coordinator in 2021. His defense finished the 2022 regular season ranked No. 1 in points and yards allowed per game. The 49ers await the winner of Monday night's matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
