The 49ers are coming off their eighth-consecutive victory after they beat the Washington Commanders on Christmas Eve, 37-20. The offense was led by TE George Kittle, who caught six passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns, giving him his second-consecutive game with two touchdown receptions. WR Ray-Ray McCloud III led all rushers with his one rushing attempt for a 71-yard touchdown. QB Brock Purdy registered 234 passing yards and two touchdowns, completing 15 of his 22 attempts for a passer rating of 114.6. RB Christian McCaffrey tallied 46 rushing yards and a one-yard rushing touchdown.
Defensively, the 49ers forced two takeaways and held the Commanders offense to 2.4 yards per rushing attempt. DL Nick Bosa pushed his season sack total to 17.5 after registering two sacks, four quarterback hits, and a forced fumble on Commanders QB Taylor Heinecke. DB Jimmie Ward registered four total tackles and intercepted Heniecke once, giving him a career-high of three interceptions this season. LB Fred Warner led the team with 13 total tackles, and CB Deommodore Lenoir posted nine tackles.
