Dec 1, 2022 at 7:05 AM--

San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Month for November.

Bosa totaled 10 tackles, five tackles for loss, and three sacks in November. He was part of a 49ers defense that held their opponent to 16 or fewer points in each of their three games during the month. Bosa is one of two NFC players to record a sack in each game from Weeks 10-12.

This is the second Defensive Player of the Month award for Bosa. He earned the award rookie in October of 2019. Bosa becomes the second 49ers player ever to earn multiple Defensive Player of the Month honors, joining Pro Football Hall of Famer Charles Haley.

Bosa becomes the first-ever player from Ohio State to win two Player of the Month awards. At least one former Buckeye has been named Player of the Month in each of the past four seasons.

49ers DE Nick Bosa named PFWA Defensive Player of the Year

By David Bonilla
Jan 25

The accolades for San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa keep piling up. After leading the league with 18.5 sacks, the talented pass rusher was named a first-team All-Pro and named to his third Pro Bowl roster. Add another honor to Bosa's resume. The defensive end has been named the Pro Football Writers of America's (PFWA) Defensive Player of the Year. "Bosa, in his fourth season, is the PFWA's Defensive Player of the Year for the first time, and the honor is the third by a 49ers player (CB Deion Sanders; 1994 and DT Dana Stubblefield; 1997) since the award was

49ers' Nick Bosa gets support from elite rival DE before NFC Championship Game

The San Francisco 49ers are facing off against the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship Game, with the victor punching a ticket to Glendale, Arizona, where they'll play the winner of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cincinnati Bengals in the Super Bowl. To reach that goal, the 49ers are going to need a strong performance from their best unit, the defensive line, which is led by potential Defensive Player of the Year: edge rusher Nick Bosa. Bosa has only further cemented his status as one of the best, if not the best, pass-rushers in the NFL with an 18.5-sack season, while continuing his efforts as a very underrated run-defender. Ahead of the NFC Championship Game, Bosa received support from rival defensive end Maxx Crosby, who entered

Brock Purdy suffered complete tear of UCL, 49ers QB facing 6-month recovery

By David Bonilla
Jan 30

The San Francisco 49ers received some disheartening news from today's MRI on Brock Purdy. According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the quarterback suffered a complete tear of the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his throwing elbow and will require surgery. The hope is that Purdy simply requires to have the injury repaired, making him available for training camp. However, undergoing reconstruction would lengthen the recovery time. #49ers QB Brock Purdy suffered a complete tear of the UCL in his

John Lynch: Brock Purdy continuing to evaluate options, 49ers still expect 6-month recovery

There was concern that San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy might require reconstruction of the torn ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in the elbow of his throwing arm rather than a repair, lengthening his recovery from about six months to maybe a year. However, nothing has led the 49ers to believe the more extensive procedure is required. Purdy suffered the injury during Sunday's NFC Championship Game when Eagles pass rusher Haason Reddick hit his arm in the first quarter. He returned to the game in the second half after backup Josh Johnson was ruled out with a concussion, but Purdy could not throw the football, attempting just one pass after the injury. "Yeah, I think he's continuing to get some different opinions, talk to different people, which I think
