On Thursday, the Carolina Panthers traded All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey to San Francisco in exchange for several draft picks. He practiced with the team on Friday and has been learning his new playbook. McCaffrey is active against the Chiefs and is expected to play.
On Friday, the 49ers ruled out defensive lineman Arik Armstead. Safety Talanoa Hufanga (concussion) and cornerback Charvarius Ward (groin) were listed as "questionable," but both are active for the game.
On Saturday, the team activated cornerback Dontae Johnson from the practice squad. However, he is among the team's six inactive players.
The San Francisco 49ers have officially announced that running back Patrick Taylor Jr. has been re-signed to a one-year deal. NFL insider Tom Pelissero first reported Taylor's return on March 10.
