A small San Francisco 49ers roster move came across the NFL transaction wire on Friday, ahead of the team's preseason matchup against the Green Bay Packers. The Niners have removed safety Leon O'Neal Jr. from the injured reserve list with an injury settlement.
San Francisco initially waived/injured O'Neal on Wednesday. The rookie safety reportedly said on social media that he had suffered a groin strain. O'Neal went unclaimed and reverted back to the 49ers' injured reserve list on Thursday.

On Wednesday, the 49ers signed cornerback Ken Crawley to a one-year deal, filling O'Neal's former roster spot. O'Neal initially signed with the team as an undrafted free agent on May 13.
