According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the San Francisco 49ers opted not to place a restricted tender on defensive end Kentavius Street, making him a free agent available to sign with another team.
49ers are not placing a restricted tender on DE Kentavius Street, who now becomes a free agent, per source. Played key backup role for San Fran and recorded three sacks, will have some interest.
San Francisco made Street (6-2, 287) a fourth-round selection out of NC State in 2018. He spent his first NFL season and most of his second on injured reserve.
Street, 25, registered 27 tackles, six tackles for a loss, five quarterback hits, three sacks, and a forced fumble through 17 game appearances (two starts) last season. He has recorded 42 tackles, eight tackles for a loss, three sacks, and a forced fumble in 35 game appearances and four starts through his three NFL seasons (not counting 2018).
The 49ers have tendered two players. The first was restricted free agent offensive lineman Daniel Brunskill at the right-of-first-refusal level of $2.43 million. San Francisco will not receive compensation if they choose not to match a competing offer. The second was restricted free agent linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair, who was given a second-round tender at a one-year salary offer of nearly $4 million.
