As Mike Florio predicted, Tom Brady will play at Levi's Stadium in 2022. Well, not exactly how he predicted. The Pro Football Talk writer expected the future Hall of Fame quarterback to be the San Francisco 49ers' starter during the upcoming season, despite Brady announcing his retirement on February 1.

On Sunday, Brady announced his unretirement.

"These past two months, I've realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands," Brady wrote via Twitter. "That time will come. But it's not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I'm coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa."

The 49ers are slated to host Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2022. The NFL will reveal the date and time of that matchup—along with the rest of the NFL schedule—in the coming months. Brady owns a career record of 2-1 against San Francisco, the team he grew up cheering. All three of those games came with the New England Patriots.

The 49ers had an opportunity to sign Brady in 2020 but opted to push forward with Jimmy Garoppolo, who had just helped the team to a Super Bowl appearance. Brady went on to win a Super Bowl with the Buccaneers during the ensuing season. Two years later, San Francisco is looking to trade Garoppolo and start last year's No. 3 overall pick, Trey Lance.

This takes yet another team—the Buccaneers—off the list of potential trade partners for Garoppolo.
